London is definitely green, but now I find nice playgrounds too, here’s a list for our short trip:
- Diana, Princess of Wales’ Memorial Playground in Kensington Gardens
Coram’s Fields is a unique seven acre playground and park for children living in or visiting London. It is open access, provides a calm, safe and stimulating environment where children can play freely and enjoy a varied programme of activities.
No adult can enter Coram’s Fields without a child and our friendly on-site staff ensure that everyone can enjoy their visit. The playground holds a full range of after school and holiday activities as well as a drop-in and events for the under-5’s.
You can find Coram’s Fields in the heart of London, close to the British Museum, Great Ormond Street Hospital and within reach of many central London children’s attractions. It lies between King’s Cross and Holborn (see here for directions).
- Paddington Street Playground
What I love about the Paddington Street Playground is that it’s so well hidden behind the busy streets of Marylebone that it feels like a secret once you’re there. It’s small, but charming, and you can easily stop there for a quick picnic or play while exploring one of my favorite streets in London: Marylebone High Street. I love to grab a sandwich from one of the many great cafés along the high street and then tuck back into the park to let the kids play before venturing off once again!
- St. Luke’s has unusual and attractive flower displays, a hardplay area available for football, tennis and netball, and a children’s play area. The park is a popular relaxation area for both visitors to the King’s Road and local residents.
- Battersea Park is situated in London, just a couple of miles south of Marble Arch. It is considered by many to be the most interesting of all the London Parks.
If you like to climb up among the branches of the tree – try Battersea Park. This is London!
- Kew Gardens:
With the Rhizotron and Xstrata Treetop Walkway, Climbers and Creepers playzone, Thinking Walks, and so many other attractions that will fill a longer trip, this place looks like a top favorite for kids, and parents too 🙂
