… instead of lawn alternatives.

A turn of the weather… showers… for flowers… cover crops… and nitrogen fixing too

Common Buckwheatbenefits… a great mid-summer soil conditioner preceding fall crops in temperate areas!

Crimson Cloverbenefits… for cool weather… a beautiful addition to fill spots in flower beds and borders. Flowers can be harvested and dried to make a delicious tea with a light, refreshing flavor.

Soil Builder Peas and Oats sown in the fall, peas and oats grow heartily in the cool weather but are killed by the cold temperatures of winter (USDA zones 7 and colder) and won’t regrow in the spring. The dead plant material provides a wonderful winter mulch that helps prevent soil erosion and is ready to be tilled into the garden as soon as soil can be worked in the spring.

Rosemary groundcover… Tuscan Blue?
